Access groups provide security for lists. Using access groups, you can control which users have access to which lists. For example, you could configure two different lists for an object type, one list with the ability to delete items and one list without. You could configure certain access groups to be able to access each list, thereby allowing only certain users to have the ability to delete items from the List Edit control.

To manage the access groups allowed to use a list, follow the procedure below.

  1. Select a list from the Lists section.

  2. Click Edit Access Groups.

  3. Select which access groups will be allowed to use this list. For more information about using this dialog box, see Manage related items. For more information about security and access groups see Access group configuration.

SHARED Tip You can also manage access groups when you create, copy, or edit a list from the List Management Console. The create, copy, and edit wizards have pages for assigning and managing access groups for the list.
