Problem
You are publishing items in Smart 3D from a remote server and the publishing fails. This is an intermittent problem that occurs in SmartPlant Client when the remote server session is creating temporary folders. You may see the following message.
By default, Remote Desktop Services creates a separate temporary folder for each active session that you have on a remote computer. These temporary folders are created on the remote computer in a Temp folder under your profile folder and are named with the sessionid.
Solution
Do not allow the remote server to create temporary folders during your remote sessions.
-
Connect to the remote server as an administrator.
-
Type gpedit in a Command Prompt window to open the Group Policy Editor.
-
Under Computer Configuration, browse to Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Temporary folders.
-
Double-click the Do not use temp folders per session setting.
-
Click Enabled to prevent the creation of a separate temporary folder for each terminal server session.
To allow the creation of a separate temporary folder for each terminal server session, click Disabled.
-
Click OK.
