10.2

You can define material types that are assigned to commodity codes and are used in the BOM, Requisition, MSCM, and Site modules of Smart Materials in the Materials Setup screen.

Define delivery designations

Delivery designations are used on requisition line items in the Requisition module. Every delivery designation must be associated with a delivery type. Some of the types are pre-fabrication shops, field, paint shops, and so on.

The delivery designation information is assigned to the line items of an engineering requisition. When an agreement is created for the requisition, the delivery designation is carried to the item shipments. When changing the delivery designation of an item shipment, the default routing method specified here is used.

  1. From the Home screen, select Administration > Global Setup > Materials Setup > Delivery Designations.

  2. In the Delivery Types section, click Add Row.

  3. Type the delivery type name in Delivery Type cell.

  4. Enter the short description and description, and click Save.

  5. In the Delivery Designations section, click Add Row.

  6. Type the delivery designation name in Delivery Designation.

  7. Enter the short description and description.

  8. Type the routing method for a delivery designation in Routing Method cell.

  9. Select a company name from the Company Name list, and then click Save.

Define item types

Item types are assigned to commodity codes and are used in BOM, Requisition, MSCM, and Site modules of Smart Materials. To create an item type, you must assign one of the following item rules:

  1. From the Home screen, select Administration > Global Setup > Materials Setup > Item Types, and then click Add Row.

  2. Select an item rule from the Item Rule list.

  3. Type an item type name in Item Type cell.

  4. Enter Short Description and Description.

  5. Select Yes in the following fields:

    • Default for the item type to be used as the default for the selected item rule

    • MTO for the item type to be considered by the MTO

    • Forecast for the forecast run to consider idents of this item type

    • Fabrication Tracking to specify which item rules must be used for fabrication tracking.

Define origins

  1. From the Home screen, select Administration > Global Setup > Materials Setup > Origins, and then click Add Row.

  2. Enter origin, short description, and description, and then click Save.
