Can I specify the time when a CS: 12 hour Continuous Concurrent License can be used?

You can set a license start time to manage the CS licenses in a keystore so that all the users work concurrently within the same 12 hour period each day. This ensures all the available CS licenses start at the same time each day and available for use for the next twelve hours.

Since the licenses all start concurrently, their expiry periods (where the licenses are unavailable for use) are also concurrent and consistent. This ensures that the licenses are available only for the set time period they are intended to be in use and become unavailable when their use is not expected. This prevents situations where a user begins work two hours late and is subsequently unable to pull their license during the first two hours of the next day because it is still in the 12 hour expiry period.

  • CS Licenses are only available in the 12 hours that follow the selected start time.

  • If your keystore has a CS license start time set, you can check out a license for the time left on a CS license at the time of check out. This is limited to maximum of 11 hours only. To check out the licenses for a longer period, you must generate an ISL key in another keystore that does not have a CS license start time enabled.

How to control the use of CS: 12 hour Continuous Concurrent licenses by setting a License Start Time

  1. Navigate to the keystore that contains the CS licenses.

  2. Click the additional options 3 dotsicon, and select License Start Time.

  3. Select the CS license start time using your system Local time, and then click Save.

You must ensure that the time set is sufficient for the work schedules of the intended users.

  • The set License Start Time does not become active until the next time it is reached, as shown in the following two scenarios:

    1. CS license start time was not set (not enabled).

      • If you set the start time later than the current time, the CS licenses will start the same day.

For example:, if the current time is 07:00am on Monday, and the License Start Time is set to 08:00am, the licenses will start at 08:00am on Monday.

      • If you set the start time earlier than the current time, the CS licenses will start the next day.

For example: If the current time is 09:00am on Monday, and the License Start Time is set to 08:00am, licenses will start at 08:00am on Tuesday.

    2. CS license start time was set and the licenses were started, but you want to change to a different start time.

      • If you move the start time forwards, the new start time takes effect the next day.

For example: If the current time is 07:00am on Monday, and the License Start Time is set to 08:00am, the licenses will start at 08:00am on Monday. However, if at 10:00am on Monday you change the start time to 09:00am, the new start time will take effect on Tuesday and start the Licenses at 09:00am.

      • If you move the start time backwards, the new start time takes effect two days later.

For example: If the current time is 07:00am on Monday, and the License Start Time is set to 08:00am, the licenses will start at 08:00am on Monday. However, if at 10:00am on Monday you change the start time to 07:00am, the new start time will not take effect until 2 days later on Wednesday and start the licenses at 07:00am.

  • If a CS license was used before the License Start Time, that license will not honor the change in license start time until it has not been used for 24 hours.

How to remove the License Start Time for CS: 12 hour Continuous Concurrent licenses

  2. Click the additional options 3 dotsicon, and select License Start Time.

  3. Click Clear to delete the start time, and then click Save.

Clearing the License Start Time does not have any effect on licenses that are already started and within the usage period for the day.
