Each standard reference tables that is delivered with the software is based on a specific template that defines the type of information contained within it. Unlike list tables, standard reference tables have a variety of attributes. Consequently, editing existing records and adding new records to a standard reference table must be done on a case-by-case basis.

Add a New Record to a Standard Reference Table

  1. Select the Reference Tables tab in the Database window.

  2. Expand the Reference node in the Reference list, and select the standard reference table to update.

  3. Scroll down to the last row of table data.

  4. Define attribute values according to the following guidelines:

BendSelect Table

  • Type values for MinBore and MaxBore.

  • Select the units of measure in the Bore_Units list.

  • Type values for minAngle and maxAngle.

  • Select either None or BendPipe in the Operation list.

  • In the Component cell, click Browse Browse button.

  • Expand the nodes in the tree view, and do one of the following:

    • If you selected None in the Operation list, expand the nodes in the Select SKEY dialog box and select an SKEY.

    • If you selected BendPipe in the Operation list, expand the nodes in the Select Component Type dialog box and select a component type.

  • Click OK.

BoltSelect Table

  • In the Flanges list, select Yes or No. If you select Yes in the Flanges list, the Select Item Code dialog box displays all the flanges in the database; if you select No, the dialog box displays only those components whose SKEY is **FL.

  • In the ItemCode field, click Browse Browse button.

  • In the Select Item Code dialog box, expand the tree and select an item code. If you define a size for the PrimaryBore before selecting an item code, the software adds the primary bore to the filter, thus narrowing the number of flanges that display.

  • Define sizes for PrimaryBore, SecondaryBore, and TertiaryBore.

  • Select the units of measure in the Bore_Units list.

  • In the ConnectionBore list, select a bore size. The software displays the sizes defined for the primary, secondary, and tertiary bore.

  • In the BoltCode field, click Browse Browse button.

  • In the Select Item Code dialog box, expand the tree and select an item code. The software splits the item code and places the first four characters in the BoltCode field and the remaining characters in the BoltSuffix field.

To change how the software divides the characters, you must use the Reference Table Template Editor to modify the AfterSelection clause in the BoltSelect template. For more information, see Reference Table Template Editor.

  • Type the number of bolts in the Quantity field.

BranchSelect Table

  • Select the type of branch in the Branch Type list.

  • Type values for the minRunBore and maxRunBore of the branch.

  • Type values for the minLegBore and maxLegBore of the branch.

  • Select the units of measure in the Bore_Units list.

  • Type values for the minAngle and maxAngle of the branch.

  • In the ComponentType field, click Browse Browse button.

The software uses the previously entered data to filter the display of components. Depending on the Branch type, the software also filters for olets and tee-type branches.

  • In the Select Component Type dialog box, expand the tree and select the component type of the branch required.

  • In the Operation field, select the operation in the list - None, SetOn, Tap, PulledSetOn or Reinforced SetOn.

DefaultChoice Table

  • In the ComponentType cell, click Browse Browse button.

  • In the Material Data Browser, select a component type in the list and click Use.

  • Type values for minPrimaryBore and maxPrimaryBore.

  • Type values for minSecodaryBore and maxSecondaryBore.

  • Select the units of measure in the Bore_Units list.

  • In the ItemCode cell, click Browse Browse button.

  • Select an item code and click OK.

FlangeSelect Table

  • Type values for minBore and maxBore.

  • Select the units of measure in the Bore_Units list.

  • In the PrimaryComponentType cell, click Browse Browse button.

  • In the Select Component Type dialog box, expand the nodes in the tree and select the flange component type.

  • Click OK.

  • If a secondary component type, such as a backing flange, is required, click Browse Browse button in the SecondaryComponentType cell.

  • Select the flange component type, and then click OK.

ValveSelect Table

  • Type values for minBore and maxBore.

  • Select the units of measure in the Bore_Units list.

  • In the ComponentType cell, click Browse Browse button.

  • In the Select Component Type dialog box, expand the nodes in the tree and select a valve component type, and then click OK.

Category Table
