Each web server must have its own installed certificate. Use the following procedure to create a self-signed certificate.
If you install Smart API Manager and Isogen Web API on different servers, you can use the same certificate for each.
-
In the Administrative Tools window, double-click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager to open the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager window.
-
In the Connections pane, select the server node.
If the following message displays, click No.
-
Double-click Server Certificates .
-
In the Actions pane, click Create Self-Signed Certificate to open the Create Self-Signed Certificate dialog.
-
Type a name for the certificate and select Personal in the list.
-
Click OK to display the new certificate details in the center pane.
-
You must also install the self-signed certificate on all client machines.
-
To install an existing certificate, click Import in the Actions pane. The software prompts you to enter the path to an existing .pfx file and a password (using the Import Certificate dialog box). Click OK to import the certificate.
-
An additional approach for setting up certificates is to install Smart API Manager and Isogen Web API on an IIS server with its own certificate already installed.
