Using the Pipeline Explorer hierarchy, you can easily navigate and view the piping, spool, and component data in the model. The top-most level of the tree view displays the name of the current POD file (1). Directly underneath is the attributes node (2). The attributes node contains file-specific attribute information, such as the isometric viewpoint (the direction of North in the model). The next level is the pipeline node (3), which displays the name of the pipeline (SG-2 in the example below). Each pipeline node consists of additional nodes that contain pipeline-specific data about the spool assemblies, components, and materials that make up the pipeline.

Because a POD is typically equivalent to one pipeline, only one pipeline node displays in the Pipeline Explorer. However, system PODs usually consist of several pipelines, each of which displays as a separate pipeline node in the Pipeline Explorer. For more information about system PODs, see Pipelines and systems in Spoolgen Workflow.

As in Windows Explorer, you can click Expand Node and SPIso ICON Collapse Node to expand and close nodes to show and hide information about the model. When you expand a spool node, for example, you can view a complete list of all the pipes and components that make up the spool assembly, as well as spool-specific property information.

When you expand the node for a pipe or component item, the tree view displays a variety of item-specific property information. In the example below, all the nodes underneath the 4-inch slip-on flange (FCD150-SOR) in the SPOOL-3 node are expanded, showing a detailed level of property information.

Also, when you select a pipe or component in the Pipeline Explorer, the software highlights the object in the Graphics window using the defined selection color.
