The 3D View window displays the model as a scaled, real-world 3D graphical representation, according to the list of available piping and components displayed in the Pipeline Explorer.

Click Show .
The software opens a new window on top of the Graphics window and displays the pipeline as a scaled 3D model.

The 3D View options on the Preferences tab (Options dialog box) enable you to turn the automatic tiling of open windows on and off when the 3D View is active.

Depending on each pipeline's relative start coordinates, pipelines are displayed together if they are intended to connect into each other, or apart if they are not.

When the 3D view is active, the software uses the colors listed below to distinguish between the pipe components in the 3D model.
Color
Purpose
Green
Identifies pipes.
Magenta
Identifies valves and flanges.
Cyan
Identifies fittings.
Yellow
Identifies supports. Represented as a circle drawn around the supported component.
Red
Indicates the currently selected component or pipeline. The whole pipeline turns red when you select the pipeline reference in the Pipeline Explorer.
