An IsogenDB project is integrated with a database (termed the Isogen database). Currently, the only applications that support IsogenDB projects are Spoolgen and Smart Isometrics.

  1. Open I-Configure and select an isometric directory in the Project View panel.

  2. Click New Project .

The New Project dialog box displays.

  3. Type a name for the project in the New project name box.

  4. In the Application list, select IsogenDatabase.

  5. Use the Available styles list to select the drawing styles to include with the project. For IsogenDB projects, you must include the Import and Spool styles.

    • The isometric drawing styles that display in the Available styles list depend on what you select in the Application list.

    • By default, any drawing style that is suitable for use with the selected project type is selected in the list. To exclude a style, clear its check box.

  6. Click OK.

The Isogen Database Project Manager - New Project window displays.

  7. Set the path to the Isogen database in the Url box

The software attempts to establish a connection to the database. If the path is valid, the software displays a beside the Url box.

If the path is not valid, the software displays a .

  8. Select an option in the Project ID Type list. This setting indicates what the project uses to reference pipeline files. You can select Pipeline Reference, File Name, or Reference and File Name.

The default setting is Pipeline Reference.

  9. Optionally, type a description for the project.

  10. Click OK.

The software creates the new project and the specified styles. The new project details are added to the Isogen database. When processing completes, the software displays the project in the Project View panel.

  • After you create an IsogenDB project, you can use the Use Windows Authentication project default to control whether the software forces you to log in to the Isogen database using Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA). For more information, see Appendix: Project Defaults in I-Configure Help.

  • Unlike the standard isometric project, you can edit IsogenDB project settings after the project is created. For more information, see Edit IsogenDB project settings in I-Configure Help.

  • The Isogen database can contain multiple projects.
