Smart Engineering Manager Version
7.2 (2014 R2)

General

  • WiX (Windows Installer XML) is used for the installation of SmartPlant Engineering Manager 2014.

Since the silent mode commands have changed for the WiX installation, for details of how to uninstall a previous version of the software in silent mode, refer to the instructions in the SmartPlant P&ID Installation and Upgrade Guide or the SmartPlant Electrical Installation and Upgrade Guide for that specific software version.

  • As a result of licensing changes, the SmartPlant Engineering Manager installation no longer requires the user to enter a serial number.

  • When loading a plant structure in SmartPlant Engineering Manager (at the 'Associate Applications' step), it is possible to specify whether to keep the identifiers that existed in the source plant structure you are loading or whether to create new identifiers. The option to keep existing identifiers is useful when using Load Plant Structure to update a plant with data that was modified externally and then re-publishing the plant data to SmartPlant Foundation without having to re-correlate the items after publishing for the first time.

Catalog Manager

  • The following new item types have been added to support Ducting and Instrumentation Diagrams:

    • Room

    • Room Component

    • Duct Run

    • Duct Component

  • In the Smart Text editor, in addition to "Plant Default" and the applicable formats for a label, a new "As Entered" format option allows data to be displayed in the exact value precision (decimals) and in whatever units (UOM) it was entered with in the SmartPlant P&ID Properties window or the Engineering Data Editor.

  • The implementation of add-ins has been changed in this version. Add-ins such as the Line Style Editor are no longer available in the delivered software; instead, they have to be installed from an appropriate .dll file.
