After defining report modules and specifying module specific properties, you must define a report definition for the report. The report definitions are maintained in the WQMS-Report.xlsm file located in the \\Smart WQMS\Models folder. Every report in Smart Weld Quality Management System has a report definition.

To create a report definition for the report:

  1. Open WQMS-Reports Excel sheet.

  2. Navigate to ReportDefiniitons sheet > WQMSReportDef section and edit the following properties:

    • UID - Type a unique identification name for the report definition.

    • Name - Type a name of the report.

    • Description - Provide a description of the report definition.

    • WQMSReportHeaderColumnSet - Type a UID for the header column-set in the report.

    • WQMSReportBodyColumnSet - Type a UID of the body column-set in the reports.

    • WQMSExtraColumnSets - Define any extra columns other than header and body column-sets required in a report.

    • WQMSGridHeaderClassDef - Define the class for the header table in the report.

    • WQMSGridBodyClassDef - Define the class for the body table in the report.

    • WQMSGridBodychildRelation - Define the relationship between the body and child in a report.

    • WQMSGridBodyChildPropMapping - Populate properties for eight objects in the report as defined in the WQMS-Reports Excel file.

    • WQMSReportOutputType - Specify the output type format of the report. For example, Docx or PDF.

      The generated reports of .docx format are converted to PDF with the help of PDFTron, introduced with WQMS 6 HF1.

    • Solution(s) - Type * to load the data to SPF database, or type Deleted to avoid loading the data to SPF database.

    • ContainerID - Defines the package or .xml file that contains the object.

  3. Navigate to SPFTemplateFile section, edit the following properties to create a new UID:

    • UID - Specify the report template file name located in \\Smart WQMS\Models folder\Reports template.

    • Name - Type a name for the report.

    • Description - Type the required format for the report. For example, Docx.

    • SPFLocalHostName - Type the localhost name of SPF.

    • SPFRemoteFileName - Type the remote file name of SPF.

    • SPFLocalFileName - Enter the report template file name located in \\Smart WQMS\Models folder\Reports template.

    • Solution(s) - Type * to load the data to SPF database, or type Deleted to avoid loading the data to SPF database.

    • ContainerID - Defines the package or .xml file that contains the object.

  4. Navigate to SPFFileComposition section and edit the following properties to define the relationship between the SPF template UID and the UID created in WQMSReportsDef section:

    • UID 1 - UID created in a SPFTemplateFile section.

    • UID2 - UID created in WQMSReportDef section.

    • UID - UID1.UID2. Specifies the relationship between UID1 and UID 2.

    • Solution(s) - Type * to load the data to SPF database, or type Deleted to avoid loading the data to SPF database.

    • ContainerID - Defines the package or .xml file that contains the object.

  5. Navigate to SPFFileFileType section, edit the following properties to specify the type of SPF file template:

    • UID 1 - Type the UID created in SPFTemplatefile section.

    • UID2 - Type the format of the template. For example, Docx.

    • UID - UID1.UID2. Specifies the relationship between UID1 and UID 2.

    • Solution(s) - Type * to load the data to SPF database, or type Deleted to avoid loading the data to SPF database.

    • ContainerID - Defines the package or .xml file that contains the object.

  6. Navigate to SPFUploadInstruction section, edit the following properties to specify the report template file path:

    • UID - Type a unique identification name for the upload instruction

    • Name - Type a name for the UID.

    • FilePath - Enter the template file path as \\Smart WQMS\Models\ReportTemplate.

    • Solution(s) - Type * to load the data to SPF database, or type Deleted to avoid loading the data to SPF database.

    • ContainerID - Defines the package or .xml file that contains the object.
