The excerpt below is from a report where collision detection was run on the sample sprdemo project file. Each collision is shown in the corresponding graphics file.

The thumbnail graphic in the report is a snapshot of the collision based on your detection Fit settings.

Columns:

  • Primary Object - Provides information on the object on which collision detection is performed. If an object or display set is made up of several elements, each element number that is affected by a collision displays.

  • Secondary Object - Provides information on the objects that are colliding with the primary object.

Properties (Rows)

  • Label - Shows the attribute name taken from the current project label database (MDB2) file. The available description depends on the source application used to create the model. The Label 1 and Label 2 fields can be edited before generating the report. For more information, see Change Labels in a Collision Detection Report.

  • File - Displays the graphic file name, such as .DGN and .PRP files, associated with the object. These files are also referenced in the Project Files section in the Project Manager.

For Smart 3D models, the Files are the discipline names.

  • Object - Shows the object ID number. All graphics in the model are objects. The object ID numbers display in the Properties dialog box. For more information, see View Object Properties.

  • Element - Shows the element ID number. Elements are the basic building blocks of a geometric figure such as lines, shapes, and circles.

  • Type - Shows the object type.

  • Minimum and Maximum Range Point - Specifies the range of the collision to include both the primary and secondary objects. When the Fit > Collision option is selected, this range is used to calculate the fit operation.
