The Default Collision Set allows you to immediately generate collision runs for objects or display sets you select in the main view. Unlike a custom collision set, the Default Collision Set is not already associated to specific display sets or graphic objects. You can interactively select different items on the Main view and then run the Default Collision Set on each item. If you want to change detect settings such as the filter or collision color, you can customize the Default Collision Set by selecting Tools > Collision Detection > Edit Collision Sets.

Detect Collisions Dialog Box Options:

  • Report = Element - Shows each colliding element in the run. If Objects are selected, the number of collisions is lower because only objects display.

  • Overwrite previous run = On - Overwrites the previous collision run each time you click Detect.

  • Transparent style = On - Displays the object or display set on which collision detection is performed in a transparent style.

Edit Collision Set Dialog Box Options:

  • Type Filter tab: Selected type = Intersecting, Contains another, and Embedded within.

  • Geometry Filter tab: All types

  • Color tab: Default (sets the same color for all collision types)

  • Sound tab: No sound

Unlike a custom collision set, the Default Collision Set is not associated to specific display sets or graphic objects. This feature allows you to use this collision set with any item you select in the main view.
