The Detect Collisions dialog box can be expanded to provide options for controlling the display of collisions in the Main view and reporting the collisions for a run.

  1. Select an object or display set in the Main view.

  2. Click Tools > Collision Detection > Detect Collisions.

The Detect Collision dialog box displays.

  3. Click Show Details .

Smart Review expands the Detect Collisions dialog box.

  4. Set the required Fit option that determines the view when you click Next or Previous to cycle through each collision.

  5. Select the Collision run number you want to review.

The collisions for that run are listed in the Report section of the dialog box.

  6. Check the Overwrite previous run option to set the number of collisions that are run.

If you have Overwrite enabled, each time you click Detect, Smart Review overwrites the previous run to generate just one collision run in a report. If you have Overwrite off, then each time you click Detect, a collision run is generated, and all runs are accumulated in a report.

  7. Check the Wireframe highlight option to turn on or off the display of a wireframe box surrounding the collision. This setting is enabled by default.

  8. Check the Transparent style option to display the object or display set specified in the collision detection run in a transparent style. Collisions inside or behind the object can be seen. This setting is enabled by default.

  9. Type in a Clearance value to set a linear distance from the edges of your display set or object in which to detect a collision. Use Clearance to expand the area around your display set or object so that more potential collisions can be discovered. For more information on setting clearance, see Add Clearance to Increase the Collision Detection Area.

  10. In the Report section, select Element or Object, which determines the number or level of collisions that display for a collision run. When you have Objects selected, the list shows only object collisions. If you have Elements selected, the list shows all collisions.

If you have Objects selected, the primary object is displayed along with the secondary collided objects in the main view. If you have Elements selected, the primary object is hidden and only the single primary and secondary collision elements display.

  11. Click Save to save the collision run information into a text file.
