To create Display Set animations, you must install the Simulation and Visual Effects module.

When you create a Display Set animation, you capture the movement of the display sets as well as symbology settings such as material colors and lighting. You also get an animation path that shows you the traversed area of the display set. Display Set animations enable you to create and then check the spatial information of objects in your model. You can view and modify the location and positioning of objects as they move along a path. When you have your spatial settings defined in the animation, you can use the Animation Sequencer to modify the time information. Edit the start and end times of the animation as well as the time corresponding to each point. For more information on the Sequencer, see Using the Animation Sequencer.

Workflow Summary

The steps below outline the major processes in display set animation development. Commands used within each process are listed below each step.

Command buttons in the Animation toolbar (Animation > Toolbars > Animation) are organized, from left to right, according to the workflow process below. You can use the toolbar as a guide in creating, playing, and scheduling animations.

  1. Select the objects to group together into a collection or display set. These display sets represent objects to move.
