Follow the steps below to export all objects in the Main view of your Smart Review project to a .pdf file.

  1. Open the project in Smart Review.

  2. Click View > Settings > View.

  3. On the Display tab, turn on or off the display of comments and measurements, and then click OK to close the View Settings dialog box. For more information on view settings, see Display Tab (View Settings Dialog Box).

Click View > Controls > Properties, and click on an object in the Main view. You can look at the attributes of each object in the Main view.

  4. Select File > Export > Main View to 3DPDF.

  5. Type in the pathname of the .pdf file or click browse to select a .pdf file.

The software exports the comments and object attributes that are visible in the Main view.

  6. Click OK to start the export and close the browse dialog box.

The Export to PDF message displays in the Smart Review status during the export process. When the process is finished, the PDF Export Completed message displays. If the export process encountered problems, the PDF Export Failed message displays.

Tips for Reducing the Number of Object Properties

There is a limit to the number of properties that can be viewed in a .pdf file. To reduce the number of object properties for the export:

  • Recreate the Smart Review label databases with only the required properties.

    • For 3D Model Data or SPRDirect .vue files, use the Smart 3D filters to remove extraneous properties before you open the files in Smart Review.
      -OR-
After opening .vue files in Smart Review, use the Smart 3D Label Selector utility to generate a .bin file that can be used to limit the properties created in the label database (.mdb2) file. For more information, see Use the SmartPlant 3D Label Selector Utility.

    • For Smart 3D (.xml) label data, you can edit the RelationshipMapping.txt file and remove relationships that are not required to filter out hierarchal property data. Recreate the SPRS3DLabels.bin file (if used) after editing the RelationshipMapping.txt file.

  • For Smart Model .vue files from Smart Interop Publisher, you can edit the custom mapping files to remove properties that are not required. For more information, see the "Configure Mapping to Control Model Display" section in the Smart Interop Publisher Online Help or User's Guide.

With the .vue file open in Smart Review, adjust the view point and Main view size to show only the required model data so that you export a smaller subset of the model. You can also use File Level Settings, Display Sets, and Hide Object to remove objects from the Main view before exporting.
