Attribute mapping helps you define the relationship between attributes belonging to a data table and any of the following components:
-
group
-
part
-
commodity code
-
ident code
-
table details
-
commodity code
-
ident
-
specification code
The deeper the level, the higher the priority. For instance, mapping in combination with a commodity part has priority over a mapping where only the commodity group is assigned.
Attribute mapping can be data table dependent or data table independent.
If a data table is added to an attribute, it is considered to be a data table dependent
mapping.
The data must be created under Attribute Mapping for all the tables except SDB_PDMS_GTYPE table name.
To create data for SDB_PDMS_SKEY table name, you must insert the data under Attribute Mappings with PDMS_SKEY as the name of the attribute and WTBW as the name of the value.
Attribute mapping is classified into the following two categories:
-
Component mapping
-
Specification mapping
To navigate to Attribute Mapping screen, click Integration > PDMS > PDMS Configuration and select the Attribute Mapping tab.
-
Double-click on any mapping.
Make a note of the Attribute, Value Source, Codelist Number, Group, Part, Commodity Code, Ident Code Table 1, Group 1, Detail 1 etc. columns in the grid.
-
The Attribute determines the column that will be impacted by the mapping, on the specified Data Table (sheet) or all sheets on which it appears.
-
The Value / Codelist Number determines the actual value that will be exported based on the remaining fields.
-
If only the group is specified then all the Commodity Codes / Idents of the Commodity Group are exported.
-
If the group and part are specified then all the Commodity Codes / Idents of the Commodity Group and Part are exported.
-
If the Commodity Code is specified then only the Idents of that Commodity Code are exported.
-
If the Table / Group / Detail are specified then they are used to filter Commodity Codes / Idents in conjunction with other values. If multiple Table Group / Details i.e. 1, 2 etc. are specified then they are "AND"ed meaning that the Commodity Codes / Ident must meet all the criteria.

Click on the Specification Mappings tab to view the spec specific delivered SRD – PDMS mappings. These entries are similar to the Component Mappings with the only difference being that these mappings are for a specific Specification and further more for the items that match the values specified in the Sequence, Short Code, Group Code, Part Code, Option Code, Commodity Code etc.
