Data table mapping allows you to define the relationship between data tables and their associated components.

  • Components that are not assigned to any part class data table category cannot be exported to any spreadsheet in Smart 3D.

  • Data tables that have no mapping entered are always exported as empty sheets in Smart 3D.

To navigate to Data Table Mapping screen, click Integration > Smart 3D > Smart 3D Configuration and select the Data Table Mapping tab.

  • Double-click on any mapping to view its details.

    • group/part

    • commodity code

    • ident code

  • Expand the mapping and double-click on any Data Table. Make a note of the Group, Part, Commodity Code, Ident Code Table 1, Group 1, Detail 1 etc. columns in the grid.

  • If you map a Smart Reference Data part to a PART_DEFINITION data table, all idents that are created for this part in Smart Reference Data are automatically mapped to the data table.

  • If you map a Smart Reference Data commodity code to a PART_DEFINITION data table, all idents that are created for this commodity code in Smart Reference Data are automatically mapped to the data table.

  • You can only map a commodity code if the associated part is not mapped to the data table.
