To navigate to Spec Editor screen,

  1. Click SRD > Spec > Spec Editor.

  2. Select Specification Types/Spec Headers/Short Codes/Spec Item from the drop-down list at the top of the tree view.

  3. Right-click a specification and click Open Cover Page.

The Spec Editor consists of a Custom Procedure page, Cover page, Temperature Pressure page, Components page, and Notes page.

  • Cover Page: This page allows you to specify the specification type, template, main material, thickness, and other general information about the specification.

  • Temperature Pressure page: This page allows you to enter and view pressure / temperature curves. This page can be divided into the following sections:

    • Geometric header data

    • Unit systems

    • Geometric detail data

    • Rating curves

  • Components page: This page allows you to specify detailed information for the groups and parts in the specification. You can generate commodity codes and idents on this page.

  • Notes page: This page allows you to add or edit notes for spec headers, as well as view the notes for spec items. Notes can be added to filter lines and spec items using the Components page.

View Specification Rules

Specification rules and the tables and attributes associated with them are required to define pipe classes.

The tables and attributes entered as a header appear as an input field in the specification header; those entered as an item appear as input at the specification item level.

To view the specification rules,

  1. Click SRD > Spec > Spec Editor.

  2. Select Specification Rules from the list in the tree view.
