User can create and maintain product group information using the Product Group Management screens. Following can be done using the Product Group Management screens-

  • View product group information

  • Map a Product Group with a Discipline

  • Create Product Group

  • Delete Product Group.

To create a product group, user must have the privilege ASSIGN USER PRIVILEGE OP assigned to role.

To change a password, user must have the CHANGE PROJECT PASSWORD privilege assigned to role.

  1. From the Home screen, select Administration > Global Setup > Product Group Management.

    Select a Product Group.

  2. To view a password, click Show Product Group Password.

     To view the password, the logged in user must have a super-user role assigned.

Map a Product Group with a Discipline

Product group/discipline must be assigned to the projects to make it available for the user securities.

  1. From the Home screen, select Administration > Global Setup > Product Group Management.

  2. Select a Product Group.

  3. In the Product Group Disciplines section, click Add Row.


  4. Select a Discipline from the discipline list.

Create Product Group

  1. From the Home screen, select Administration > Global Setup > Product Group Management.

  2. Click Create Product Group.


  3. Type the product group name in Product Group cell.

  4. Type a password and a description.

  5. Select a user group from the User Group list.

  6. Click Create Product Group.



Delete Product Group

  1. From the Home screen, select Administration > Global Setup > Product Group Management.

  2. Select a Project Group.


  3. Click Delete Product Group.

  4. To delete the product group from the database, select Delete from M_PROJECTS, and then click Start.



 The database operation cannot be stopped once started. Click Ok to continue.
