Define file sources

Some of the engineering or procurement data might be external to Smart Materials and is handled in the form of an attachment to a requisition, inquiry, or agreement. The possible external sources for documents can be technical evaluation checklist data, vendor data requirements, and so on.

  1. From the Home screen, select Administration > Global Setup > File Setup > File Sources, and click Add Row.

  2. Type the application name in the Application cell.

  3. Type the command line argument for the application in the Command Line cell.

  4. Enter the short description and description.

  5. Type the file extension for the application in the File Extension cell.

  6. Enter the prefix and postfix values for printing, and click Save.

Define load formats

  1. Select Load Formats from File Setup screen, and click Add Row.

  2. Type a format name.

  3. Select a format type from the Load Format Types list and date format from Date Format cell.

  4. Select a fabrication type from the Fabrication Types list.

     Fabrication Type is enabled only for FT.

  5. Select a company code from the Companies list, and click Save.

  6. In the Load Format Details section, click Add Row.

  7. Specify the from and to position at which the property begins and ends in From and To respectively.

  8. Select a property from the Properties list, and click Save.

Define file destinations

You must set up the network drives and shares to be used for uploading and linking documents. You can define the destination paths for servers and shares on your network using File Destinations screen.

  1. Select File Destinations from File Setup screen and click Add Row.

  2. Type the destination name in the Destination Code cell.

  3. Select the Link or Upload destination type from the Type list.

  4. Enter the destination path in the Destination Path cell.

  5. Select Yes from the Sub Directory list to make the subdirectories in the destination available.

Select the domain user from the Domain User list.
