Specification mapping is similar to component mapping. Using specification mapping, you can map the attributes to apply filters to the following components:

  • specification code

  • specification item

  1. In the tree view, double-click an item mapping.

  2. Click the Specification Mappings tab.

  3. Click Edit Grid to unlock the edit options.

  4. Click Add Row .

  5. In the Attribute cell, click Selection list or press F9 to select an attribute.

  6. In the Value cell, click Selection list or press F9 to select a value.

    The value in the Codelist Number column is automatically displayed based on the selected value in the Value column.

    Perform step 7 only if you want to map the attribute data from a specific data table; else proceed to step 8.

  7. In the Data Table cell, click Selection list or press F9 to select a data table.

  8. In the Spec Code cell, click Selection list or press F9 to select a spec code.

    The value in the Revision column is automatically displayed based on the selected value in the Spec Code column.

  9. In the Sequence cell, click Selection list or press F9 to select a sequence.

    The values in the Short Code, Group Code, Part Code, Option Code, Commodity Code, Geometric 1, From Size 1, To Size 1, Unit 1, From Size 1, To Size 1, Unit 1, From Size 1, To Size 1, Unit 1, and Project columns are automatically displayed based on the selected value in the Sequence column.

  10. Click Save Grid and then click Read-Only Grid to set the grid back to read-only mode.

SHARED Tip When mapping components, click Check GridCheck grid on the Smart 3D Specification Codes tab to verify that you have applied all the mandatory filters.
