To define and maintain transfer jobs, use the Integration->Smart 3D->Smart 3D Transfer Jobs. The jobs are used to generate the transfer files with data tables for Smart 3D bulkloading.

To create a new job run for an existing job, select a job, and click the New Run button. The new run number is set to one if no predecessor run number was found in the actual project. This way, it is possible to create runs in a project on jobs initially defined in the product group. The job goal is automatically copied from the actual run. You can enter a fixed job goal in the general configuration item NEW_RUN_JOB_GOAL, which is then used for all related job runs. If no value is assigned to NEW_RUN_JOB_GOAL, the job goal from the previous run is copied.

To create a new export job, click Add Add.

The following fields must be filled to create a new export job:

Field

Description

Job

The job name identifies the job.

Destination

Open the LOV on the Destination field by clicking the LOV Dot LOV to select a destination. The destination identifies the target Smart 3D catalog database that should be populated with Smart Reference Data. The LOV displays all pre-defined destinations from the Integration->Smart 3D->Smart 3D Transfer Jobs->Destinations screen.

Prod. Dest.

The production destination appears in this field if the job transfers data from a test destination to a production destination (when the To Prod. Dest. check box is selected).

Transfer Type

Open the LOV on the Transfer Type field by clicking the LOV Dot LOV to select a transfer type. The transfer type determines the data tables that should be generated by the export job. The LOV displays all pre-defined transfer types from the Integration->Smart 3D->Smart 3D Configurations->Data Tables->Click on (>) button screen. Acknowledge the prompt message by selecting Yes to copy the data tables from the selected transfer type to the Data Tables tab. To activate this functionality, the general config setting AUTO_SELECT_SHTS_FOR_PARTS must be set to Y on Integration->Smart 3D->Smart 3D Transfer Jobs->General Configurations, for the general config that is assigned to the export job.

If you select a transfer type that is defined with fixed data tables, the related data tables must be copied, or the selection/update is not accepted. After insertion of these fixed data tables, you are not able to add or remove data tables manually for the job as the data tables grid is read only. Additionally, the automatic selection features that can be configured on General Configurations screen to fire at export job validation time do not change a set of data tables if a ‘data tables fixed’ transfer type is used.

To export US specifications, transfer type SDB_PIPING_SPEC_WBK should be used. If part class data tables are not automatically exported with the specification, transfer type - SDB_CATALOG should be used for part data.

Export Mode

Select a Export Mode method from the combo box. These options are available:

NEW – Creates a new catalog.

Delete And Replace – Erases the old catalog data of the data table in process and inserts new data.

Add Modify And Delete - This export mode compares the data in process to the data previously exported. If a line is new, altered, or no longer there, the appropriate flags A (added), M (modified), and D (deleted) are set in the data tables in the first column of each row, to be interpreted by the Smart 3D bulkload utility

It is recommended to always use the Add Modify And Delete export mode method.

Job Goal

Each job has multiple process stages that describe the level of completeness. These stages are related to distinct tasks. The job goal defines to which stage the job should run.

Job Goal

Stage

Stage Description

No stage passed yet

The export job was not yet started.

Prepare To Fill Tables

Ready to fill interface tables

The interface temporary tables are filled with data when the Extended Customization check box is selected on Integration->Smart 3D -> Smart 3D Configuration->Data Table Configurations. Here you can apply filters and add replacement values on these data.

Fill Interface Tables

Interface tables filled

The interface tables are filled.

Verify Consistency

Consistency Verified

The data consistency is verified.

Write To File

Written To File

Write the contents of the interface tables into files (XLS or TXT).

BULKLOAD

Bulkload done

Bulkload the transfer files into Smart 3D.

Analyze Bulk Log

bulkload log analyzed

Analyze the Bulkload log file to inform Smart Reference Data which lines were loaded and which were skipped.

Verify Smart 3D

Smart 3D verification passed

Verify the catalog within Smart 3D.

Import GUIDs

GUIDs Imported

Load the GUIDs back to Smart Reference Data.

Complete Job

Synchronize the Smart Reference Data inventory of Smart 3D with the data produced by the actual job.

General Config

Open the LOV on the General Config field by clicking the LOV Dot LOV to select a general config. With the assignment of a general config, a list of defaults is defined and general settings for an export job are made, which control its behavior. The LOV displays all pre-defined general configs from the Integration->Smart 3D->Smart 3D Transfer Jobs->General Configurations screen.

Item Mapping

Open the LOV on the Item Mapping field by clicking the LOV Dot LOV icon to select an item mapping set. With the assignment of an item mapping set, the relations between data tables/data table attributes and assigned groups/parts/commodity codes/idents are established. The LOV displays all pre-defined item mappings from the Integration->Smart 3D->Smart 3D Configurations->Attribute Mappings screen.

With the assignment of the item mapping, the template linked to the item mapping is automatically filled in, and further the data table config that is linked to the template.

Currently, there is one item mapping configuration available; SDB_ITEM_MAPPING is used by ASME components.

Template

The template that is linked to the item mapping is automatically filled in when selecting the item mapping. If you want to select a different template, use the LOV on the Template field by clicking the LOV Dot LOV. With the assignment of a template, you identify the data tables that are filled by the transfer procedure by simply copying the data from the template. The LOV displays all pre-defined templates from the Integration->Smart 3D->Smart 3D Configurations->Templates screen.

The template SDB_TEMPLATE is updated with the codelists used in the extraction of data tables for Smart 3D.

Data Table Configuration

The data table configuration cannot be assigned to an export job directly; the data table configuration that is linked to the template is automatically filled in when selecting the item mapping or when changing the template. The details of data table configurations are defined on the Integration->Smart 3D->Smart 3D Configurations->Data Table Configurations screen.

Verification Set

This field is optional. If a set is assigned, its verification reports are executed during the Verify Consistency stage. The verification sets are defined on the Integration->Smart 3D->Smart 3D Configurations->Verification Sets/Reports screen. For more information, see Verification Reports and Sets.

When the new export job definition is saved, the following message appears.

2

When this message is acknowledged with Yes, the data tables assigned to the selected transfer type are populated and displayed on the Data Tables tab in the second block. To activate this functionality, the general config setting AUTO_SELECT_SHTS_FOR_PARTS must be set to Y.

3

You can add data tables manually. To add, click calender Edit Grid, select a new record, click Add Add, and select a data table from LOV. To delete the assigned data tables, right click on the record and select Delete or press the Delete key from the keyboard. To delete all at once, right click and select Delete All. This removes all selected data tables from the job.

When the scope of the export job should cover spec dependent data, you must select the specifications to be transferred to Smart 3D. Go to Specification Items tab, click Add Add to add new row. Use the select specs manually using the LOV on the Spec Code field. To delete all specs at once, right click and select Delete All. This removes all selected specs from the job.

4

The Initialize Job button starts the validation of the data the job is based on.

Additionally, if the job was not yet started and the job stage is No stage passed yet some data is added as requested:

  1. The software fills the Idents tab with commodity codes from the selected spec items. This step only takes place if the general config item AUTO_SELECT_IDENTS_FROM_SPEC is not set to NO_SELECTION.

  2. The software fills the Data Tables tab with the CustomInterfaces sheet. This step only takes place if the Smart 3D config item AUTO_SELECT_CUST_INTF_FOR_PART_DEFS is set to Y, and the data table selection already contains PartClasses, and CustomInterfaces which is not yet selected.

To delete all the idents at once, right click and select Delete All.

5

The progress of the validation is shown in the following screen:
