This functionality allows you to link the potential geometrics to commodity codes from other matching commodity codes.

Use the S.30.01.01 Link Geometrics screen to identify the matching commodity codes for a given commodity code and then link the geometrics of these matching commodity codes. Linking can be done in three ways:

  • Geometrics of selected commodity code

  • Geometrics of maximum matching percent commodity code

  • Geometrics of all the matching commodity codes.

To open the S.30.01.01 screen, use the Fastcall in S.30.01 Commodity Codes.

On the S.30.01 Commodity Codes screen, select the commodity code for which you want to search for matching commodity codes to link the geometrics of these matching commodity codes. Then use the Fastcall to open the S.30.01.01 Link Geometrics screen.

  1. The first (Commodity Codes) block displays the selected commodity code with the associated commodity group, commodity part, and the short description.

  2. Click the Existing CC Geom Relations button to display all existing geometric relations to this commodity code (the same result can be seen on S.40.22 Commodity Geometric Relations: Window 2).

  3. In the second (Matching Commodity Codes) block the matching commodity codes are displayed when you click the Find Match button. Before you click the button, select a commodity group and a commodity part in the Group and Part field to restrict the search for matching commodity codes to this part. With the value you enter in the Min. Match % field you specify the minimum matching percentage that a commodity code should have in order to be considered as being a similar commodity code. Only commodity codes having match % greater or equal the Min. Match % value will be considered when clicking the Find Match button.

  4. Select the Link check box to select a matching commodity code to be used to link geometrics. Click Select All to mark all displayed commodity codes. To clear the selection, click De-select All.

  5. The Match % value indicates the actual matching percentage of this matching commodity code to the selected commodity code.

The third (Geometrics) block displays the geometrics that are linked to the commodity code selected in the Matching Commodity Codes block.

Click the Link button to manually select one or more of the matching commodity code(s), and then link their geometrics to the commodity code you selected for copying the geometrics.

Alternatively, click the Link by Part button to copy the geometrics to all other commodity codes having the same part as the commodity code selected to copy the geometrics. Unlike the functionality of the Link button, you do not have to copy the geometrics from matching commodity codes taking one commodity code at a time.

You must specify a minimum value for the matching % for the commodity codes. After computation, the geometrics of all these commodity codes that have matching % equal or more as specified, are copied to the selected commodity code and all other commodity codes that have the same part.

The Link by Part (Max) button allows you to copy the geometrics to all other commodity codes that have the same part as the commodity code selected to copy the geometrics. However, only the geometrics of the commodity codes which have the maximum matching % will be copied, unlike the geometrics of all the commodity codes that have matching % >= Min. Match%, as in the case of Link by Part.

Before the links are applied, the software checks the existing commodity geometric relations. If the relation was created using S.10.07, S.40.21, and S.40.22, or manually created in S.30.01.01 using the Link button, then this relation will be kept. The other relations created previously in S.30.01.01 using the Link by Part or Link by Part (Max) button will be deleted.
