The LOV on the Table Name field shows the available tables in Smart Materials and the tables in the import table.

If you omit the table name, specify them in the import table; otherwise, no data will be imported. If you specify the table name as a parameter, you can achieve the results described in the following section, Filters with table name specified:

Filters with table name specified

If the import rows of the selected import type contain table information, your input parameter acts as a filter.

Example:

Table type code: TT1
Table type description: Sample
Table name: T3

The following import rows exist:

Rows 1 and 2 are imported because there was no table specified previously in the import table. Rows 3 through 5 are excluded and therefore not imported because row 3 contains a table that does not match. Rows 6 through 8 are imported because row 6 is the same table as specified.

Import of New Tables

If the table name given in the parameter does not exist in Smart Materials and the import table starts with a table that matches your parameter, it is imported from the import table. Duplicates are skipped automatically, but the procedure imports nonexistent short and long descriptions for an existing table.

Creation of New Tables from a Parameter

If the table name given in the parameter does not exist in Smart Materials and the import table does not begin with a table but, for example, begins with a GROUP-level row, the table is created on the fly using the parameter data you submitted. If the table name given in the parameter does not exist in Smart Materials and the import table starts with a table that matches your parameter, it is imported from the import table. Duplicates are automatically skipped, but the procedure imports nonexistent short and long descriptions for an existing table.
