On the S.10.02 Commodity Groups screen, define commodity groups and assign the appropriate rules that were defined in the previous step. The commodity group represents the first or top level of standardization.

In the Group field, type a unique identifier for the name for commodity group. Examples of unique identifiers could include the names such as Pipe, Valve, Fittings, and so on.

In the Rule field, use the List of Values to select a rule for all the commodity parts assigned to this commodity group.

The Object field is optional. You can use this field to assign an object parameter to the group that is valid for all parts assigned to this commodity group.

In the Short Desc and Description fields, enter the group description.
