On the Layout Management dialog box, select a language in the NLS box.

Click the Selection list
to select a control status in the Ctrl cell.

Click the Selection list
to select attributes or tables in the Short Layout and Long Layout cells .
The entries are displayed like:
#<attribute or table name>_short# (in the Short Layout box)
#<attribute or table name>_long# (in the Long Layout box)

While generating the layout, the variable gets replaced by the actual value.

For generating the short and long layout using special attributes, the entry should be displayed in the format: #Special Table Name_Attribute Name#

You can also drop attribute or table names onto the Short Layout and Long Layout boxes. Click the arrow
to display the available attributes and tables.

The Manual indicator on this dialog box is a read-only indicator that shows whether the short or long layouts have been modified manually.
