Those who are responsible for maintaining specifications must also manage the revisions of the specifications.

On the Spec Management screen, the controls at the top allow you to step through the master records. The header area contains the display and revision options. The lower half of the screen shows the details for the current record.

Grid Shortcut Menu

The shortcut menu in the grid is available when you select one or more rows and right-click.

Revise - To release a project spec for use in the project, you must issue the spec and activate the revision while logged into the project. This spec will then be available for selection, for example, in the B.20.01 module.

For the Revise command, you can select multiple rows. For the other commands, you must select only one row.

Copy - You can copy specifications from the product group into your project.

Unissue - Unissuing a spec is only allowed if the spec is of the highest revision and is not used in one of the following modules: B.20.01, L.20.01, S.60.05, S.70.01, S.70.04, PDMS.10.12, PDMS.10.12.

SHARED Tip If you try to unissue a spec that is not the highest revision, the software displays a message: "The specification <name> cannot be unissued because this revision is not the highest one. The highest revision number is <number>."

Delete - Deletes a spec of the nth revision.

Force Delete - Deletes a spec of the nth revision, regardless of whether it is issued or not.
