Only a user with Recommendation_Configuration privilege can change the mode from inactive to training and training to production. All the users irrespective of their privileges can involve in training the Recommendation Configuration.

Step 1: Select Mapping Type and Mode

  1. Navigate to Integration > Smart 3D > Smart 3D Import.

  2. In the Setup Configuration tab, click Recommendation Configuration AIC Temp Icon icon. The Configure Auto Mapping window appears.

    • If the user with Recommendation_Configuration privilege has Read Only access, then all the fields in the Configure Auto Mapping window will be disabled.

    • If the user with Recommendation_Configuration privilege has Deactivated access, then the Configure Auto Mapping window will not open after clicking the Recommendation Configuration AIC Temp Icon icon.

    AI-CONFIG

  3. In the Mapping Type, select either Codelists or Commodity Codes option.

  4. From the Mode drop-down list, select Training if you want to train the configuration or select Production if you want the configuration to be used in the production site.

  5. Click Apply. A progress bar appears indicating that the sampling process has started running in the background.

Step 2: Training the Configuration

  1. Navigate to Codelists Mappings tab or Commodity Mappings tab based on what you have selected in the Mapping Type of Configure Auto Mapping window and perform one of the following as required:

    • Map the Codelists that are recommended by the Sampling process and are available in the Staging area with the Project/Product Group. For more information, see Map and Import Codelists.

    • Map the Commodity Codes that are recommended by the Sampling process and are available in the Staging area with the Project/Product Group. For more information, see Map and Import Commodity Codes.

Users without Recommendation_Configuration privilege can also perform the mappings.

  2. As you keep progressing in training the Configuration, the following will take place:

    • Accuracy available on top right of the application keeps increasing. Accuracy increases as we map more codelists and commodity codes.

      Accuracy

    • Bulb available on top right of the application keeps blinking indicating that you are training the configuration.

  3. After you train the configuration, navigate back to the Setup Configuration tab.

  4. Click Recommendation Configuration AIC Temp Icon icon. The Configure Auto Mapping window appears.

  5. In the Mode drop-down list, select Production.

  6. Click Apply. The progress bar is displayed indicating that the configuration is changing to Production mode.

    • If the Configuration is in Training mode, the recommendations that appear on clicking the AutoMap button are not based on Recommendation Configuration as the training is still in process.

    • Once the Configuration is in Production mode, the recommendations that appear on clicking AutoMap button are based on Recommendation Configuration.

    • You can continue to train the recommendations model in the Production mode as well. The training can be done either by doing the manual mapping or by using the AutoMap button.

    • The status of the training is provided at the bottom of the screen.

    • You can navigate to other screens while the Training is in progress.

    • It is recommended that you enable logs and re-login to the application for better tracking.

    • To unmap, right-click the mapped item and click UnMap. When you unmap a parent node, all the mapped items under it are also unmapped.

    • In the training mode, you cannot unmap the parent nodes, if any of its child nodes remain mapped.

    • When the training mode is applied, only a number of filtered items appear in the Staging area. You cannot unmap the items in the Project/Product Group Data area if they are mapped to items that do not appear in the staging area due to the recommendations provided by Recommendation Configuration.

Step 3: Get Recommendations

You can get the recommendations only in the Production mode. The mappings done using the recommendations in Production mode continue to train the recommendations model, so that you get even better recommendations.

To get the Commodity Code Mappings, do the following:

  1. Navigate to Commodity Mappings tab based on what you have selected in the Mapping Type of Configure Auto Mapping window.

  2. Select an unmapped commodity code or codelist.

  3. Click the AutoMap button.

  4. In the Commodity Codes Auto Suggestions(Rule Based) dialog box, click Skip and proceed with description search.

  5. Select the group and part to which the commodity code/codelist belongs and click Add.

  6. In the Commodity Codes Auto Suggestions(Rule Based) dialog box, select the matching commodity code/codelist.

    • To know how the recommendations are provided, click the Review button. The JSON file can be opened in an editor such as Notepad++. You also need to install the plugin JSON Viewer/ JSON Format.

    • The Review button is enabled or disabled based on the selection of the check box Debug Recommendations in the Administrations > Options > Recommendation Configuration screen. For more information, see Configuration settings in Smart Reference Data.

    • Only AI recommendations debug details are shown.

    • The DBA Setting AI_DEBUG_RECOM needs to be added. For more information, see AI_DEBUG_RECOM.

    • You can get the recommendations faster when the Review button is disabled.

To get the Codelist Mappings, do the following:

  1. Select the codelists that you want to map.

    • You can select only an unmapped codelist.

    • At least one codelist from that sheet should be mapped.

  2. Click Automap > Load Assisted Mappings.

  3. In the Codelists Mapping Autosuggestions dialog box, all the suggestions for the codelists appear.

Options available in Configure Auto Mapping window

These options can be accessed only by the privileged users with complete access.

Import

Using the Import functionality, you can import any pre-existing mappings into the current staging area to train the configuration.

  • Only XLSX file format is supported for import.

  • If the selected file for import contains any non English characters, that record is omitted.

  • The selected file for import should follow a proper structure with only two columns namely "S3D DESCRIPTION" and "SRD DESCRIPTION". Any modification to the structure render the file invalid for import.

  1. Click Import Import-icon icon to import the pre-existing mappings from an external Excel file.

  2. Click Apply. After the import, these pre-existing mappings contribute to the trainings to improve the accuracy of the configuration. Once the mode of configuration is changed to Production, both imported and manually trained mappings are taken into consideration for recommendations in the staging area.

    Import-Process

You can also do the manual mapping after importing the pre-existing mappings.

Export

The Export functionality allows you to download the mappings along with the pre-existing mappings from the selected configuration and staging area in an Excel file which is available in a zip folder.

To export,

  1. Click the ExportExport-iconicon.

    Export-Process

The pre-existing mappings are the external mappings that are imported into the staging area.

Reset

The Reset functionality resets the configuration to Inactive mode and the bulb gets OFF. After the reset is done, all the trainings will be deleted and you must re-train from the scratch.

To reset the configuration,

  1. In the Mapping Type, select either Codelists or Commodity Codes option.

  2. Click the Reset Reset AICicon.

    Reset-Process

The manual mappings done in the Codelist or Commodity Code Mappings tab will not be erased even after reset.
