Import company idents

Prerequisites

  • In the DBA settings, you must set the destination directory for upload of company ident files (COMPANY_IDENT_UPLOAD_DEST) to the corresponding application server.

  • The folder assigned to the DBA setting corresponding to COMPANY_IDENT_UPLOAD_DEST must have full permissions to IUSR and IIS_IUSR(<ApplicationServerName>).

    The folder assigned to the DBA setting corresponding to COMPANY_IDENT_UPLOAD_DEST must have full permissions to IUSR and IIS_IUSRS<ApplicatoinServerName>

    1. Open the application server.

    2. Go to the folder assigned to COMPANY_IDENT_UPLOAD_DEST DBA setting.

    3. Right-click the folder, click Properties, and then click the Security tab.

    4. From Group or user names, select IUSR, click Edit, and then select Full Control.

    5. Similarly, provide full control access to IIS_IUSRS<ApplicatoinServerName>.

  • You must configure appropriate path for SAM Server and SRDApiServer/VirtualDirectory in the SAM Configuration Details screen (Administration > Options).

  1. SRD API should be configured on the same application server where SRD service is configured.

  2. Authentication server username and password should be same as the SRD client username and password.

You can import company idents from a Microsoft Excel worksheet and manage them in Smart Reference Data.

  1. Click SRD > XS10 Component Manager > XS1010 Commodity/Ident Management.

  2. Select All Commodity Groups/Commodity Group/Part/Commodity Code/Ident.

  3. Click Import Company Idents from the data explorer view.

  4. Select the Import Company Idents tab.

  5. In the Import pane, click the Browse button to upload the file to be imported.

    The file you upload must be a Microsoft Excel worksheet in the format shown below:

  6. Click Import.

    You can view the log files after the import is complete, by clicking the View Log link within the Import pane.
