Cutting time of the profile is calculated based on:

  • Machine technology (several work places can share the same technology)

  • Material thickness of the cut material (web and flange calculated separately)

  • Optional bevel type

  • Optional cutting of the bulb

Cutting length, bevel type, and material thickness are calculated separately for profile web and flange (if supported by the 3D design system). Cutting speed for different Technology groups is defined as the unit [mm/s]. The cutting speed of the profile is selected according to thickness values between T min greater than or equal to (>/=) or less than (<) T max. Depending on the machine, bevel cutting might be slower or the material might need to be cut several times. Therefore, you can define separate cutting speeds for different bevel types (V, Y, X, K).

For bulb-type (or similar) profiles, the cutting time of the bulb itself might be much slower than cutting the web of the profile. Therefore, for certain profile types the cutting time of the bulb can be optionally given as the parameter "Bulb (s/macro)". Also, you can define the Cutting Length (mm) manually if the correct cutting length for certain profile types cannot be interpreted from the 3D modelling system. Bulb cutting time is taken into consideration with profile end cuts, not with inner cuts.

Times and length can be set to each workplace individually or default values can be used. The workplace specific values can be seen at the bottom of the blue rectangle area, where the workplace is called Profile Robot Pema 1. The default values are displayed in the yellow rectangle area.
