Reasons are used in the workshop when starting a disturbance or a pause, or when rejecting items. If reason groups are used, work places can be set to show different reasons depending on the need of the work place. For example, a packing work place might show different rejection reasons than a cutting work place.

Disturbances and Pauses include a Reason Code, Reason Group, and Reason Text.

Rejection reasons are also included in the New Status of the rejected item, the Object Type for which the reason can be used, Actions, and the Parent.

New Status

Specifies the state of the item after the rejection. If no object type is defined, you can use the reason for all kinds of objects.

Scrapped - The rejected item will be directly defined as scrap.

Rejected - A rejection needs to be accepted by a foreman in the Work Queue before the item is scrapped.

Stock Remnant - The rejected item is changed to a stock remnant. The item can be used. Examples of this include stock plates not meeting the required measurements, or large parts which are damaged but can be still used as a remnant for future works.

Raw Material - Can be used when rejecting plates. This returns the rejected plate back to the stock instead of scrapping it.

Object Type

Specifies the items for which you can use the rejection reason. If this field is blank, then the rejection reason is available for all items.

Actions

Specifies changes that you can make to the cutting work without having to re-nest the whole plate.

Change Material Individual - Allows you to repick the stock material used for nesting. You cannot use this action for remnant nestings. NSYMaterialRejectionRePickingMode defines the repicking mode.

Change Material Article - Sends the nesting back to Cutting for article change. You must repick the nesting after the change if picking is mandatory.

Change Nesting - Sends the nesting back to Cutting for path changes. The nesting displays in Workshop Cutting after the change.

Parent

Lets you use two-level rejection reasons.
