Nesting of profile parts is not necessary because material usage and sawing time can also be calculated based on a single part. In some cases, however, the nesting results in a more accurate material usage and sawing time. Click Optimization to add selected lines of the position list to the nesting.

On the upper side of the dialog box, there is a list of the positions which are selected to be nested. In the middle there is a list of those article numbers to which the selected positions can be nested. click Add to optimization to select article numbers can be selected as raw materials of the nesting. At the same time, the balance of the raw materials can be given which can either be unlimited, a free balance of the article number, or a given count. The article number always specifies the raw material of a nesting; for a short-measured bar no optimization can be carried out. When the raw materials are selected, their length, optimization type and count can still be adjusted.

Click Optimization Settings to adjust the settings of the optimization.

The optimization settings for quotation calculation and production work planning are separate, meaning that they can be freely edited without affecting each other.

The optimization settings are documented in the instructions Smart Production Profile.

Click Start to begin optimization.

When optimization is done, the user will be asked whether the nesting percent for the nested position should be updated:

If you select Yes, the optimizations are changed as sale nestings. At the same time, the material usage of the nested position and the sawing time is recalculated based on the sale nestings.

Sale Nestings of Profile Parts

Sale nestings display for each position on the Sales nestings tab on the lower side of the Profile Parts tab.
