Because quotation lines, or positions, can be of different types, they have a tab of their own.

Plate parts are parts which are cut from raw material plates. You can modify these parts after the cutting in the following work phases: beveling, machining, bending, coating, and so on. Usually, the part geometry is described to the cutting needs. For the capacity and material calculation, there must be a geometry. This geometry can either be real but must at least be a rectangle. Material usage and cutting time can be calculated based on a single part or through the sales nesting and the cutter path.

Profile parts are parts which are sawn off raw material bars which are either straight or skew on their ends. A profile part is described through giving the material data, profile length, and the forms of the ends. Material usage and cutting time can be calculated based on a single part or through optimizing the profile parts so that they result in one or more sales nesting.

Stock parts are completed or half-completed product parts in the stock. They do not include a breaking process, but they can be modified in other work phases such as coating. Stock parts can be of following types:

  • Full raw materials such as raw material plates and profiles

  • Partly used raw materials such as cutting remnants

  • Component parts, such as screws, nuts, bearings, and so on

  • Parts which are cut from a plate

  • Parts which are sawn from a profile

Product structures are structure levels, and the parts which are under these levels can be connected to each other such as by welding. Structure levels can also be logical levels which collect specific parts to assemblies. Structure levels are hierarchical; under one structure there can be parts or substructures. There is no limit to the number of levels.
