Detailed scheduling is used to balance the resources needed according to the available capacity. A capacity overload situation can occur for a variety of reasons. Usually this happens when rough-cut planning has scheduled work operations, and some of them are overlapping (note rough-cut planning has infinite capacity).

Detailed scheduling is done in the Work Queue module. Works are scheduled with the move works function or by dragging and dropping items up and down in the queue. Users can move, for example, plate cutting works from one work place to another within the same workgroup if the work places support the same machine technology. A change made to a work placeā€™s work queue has a straight effect on the work place work queue presented in the Workshop module used in production.

There is a Visual Planner tool in the Work Queue module for visualizing and optimizing panel flow in the panel line. The Visual Planner can be used only for panel lines.

The operator can reschedule the panel line or try to optimize it. The scheduling keeps the panels in the same order, unlike the optimization which tries to find a more optimal work order and schedule with the given emphasis for lead time, lateness, earliness, and scattering.
