The SPx ENT system requires base information to run production smoothly. This section describes the main things required for the system.

Installation includes configuration data, an example site with work places and so forth, which enable running the system as-is. This is for demonstration purposes only!

Production sites are modeled in the System Settings module with the following information:

  • Work groups and work places with supported work phases and shift and week calendars

  • Work chains used (to speed up usage)

  • Users and user groups

  • Storage locations

In addition, operational data can be added or modified in System Settings, including:

  • Combo values - Delivery terms, delivery ways, material groups, payment terms, and so on

  • Reasons for production events - Disturbances, pauses, rejections, defections, and so on

  • Other values concerning work time calculations and other specialized settings

  • Profile cross section catalogs and profile macro mappings -The idea of the profile macro mappings is to define the design data profile part information so that it is understandable for the profile cutting robot when making an NC-code

An example of the macro mapping:

For more information, see the Profile Macro Mapping manual.

Profile cross section catalogs are used for material article selection for profile parts in the design data (assembly.xml).

For more information, see the System Settings manual.

The required material articles can be defined in the Inventory module. Users can import the project and generate the articles based on the design data. Article data can also be imported using the Excel interface.

For more information, see the Inventory manual.

Customer and supplier information (addresses, contact persons, and so on) are added and managed in the Customers module. Customers can also be imported via the Excel interface.

For more information, see the Customers manual.

The installation contains work places for gas and plasma-plate cutting machines with example machine databases and a dummy postprocessor (does not create cuttable NC-codes). But for actual cutting, a machine-specific machine database and postprocessor are required.

For more information, see the Machine Editor manual.

When the system is set up with suitable data, the execution can begin.
