The XML interface between Cadmatic and Smart Production Cutting enables you to manage information between Cadmatic and Cutting more precisely. The XML interface contains a link that sends information from Cadmatic to Cutting, and sends feedback from Cutting to Cadmatic. This enables you to divide management data from geometry for better handling.
Using XML Import
You launch XML Import from the application menu. XML Import runs the script that reads the XML file Cadmatic exports. The script uses a batch operation to transfer the data from XML to the Cutting database. XML Import usually adds content to the database and modifies the current content in the database.
XML Import populates the Part list with all of the required management data, but does not add actual geometry. The order item list contains all of the required management data and the location of the geometry DXF file Cadmatic exports. The software adds this information as an attachment. Cadmatic combines 3D hull files with DXF files and exports the information as an attachment.
