Use Remnant to select and create remnants. The software adds remnants to the database when it creates the NC program.
Type
Displays the available remnant types (see the figure below).
Creates a remnant with a stepped edge.
Creates a remnant with an edge that follows the contour of the nested parts.
Creates a remnant with a straight edge in the X direction. Horizontal rectangular remnant is possible from left and/or right plate edge.
Creates a remnant with a straight edge in the Y direction. Vertical rectangular remnant is possible to leave from bottom and/or from top plate edge.
Parameters
Corner Type
Defines the corner type of offset geometry: Select Square, Round, or Sharp.
Square corner type
Round corner type
Sharp corner type
Technology Shape Type
Defines the shape type of cut technology like pierce, lead, ridge, corner loop. Select TrueShape or MinMax Box.
TrueShape technology shape type
MinMax Box technology shape type
Minimum length and width of the rectangle
Defines the minimum length and width of the remnant. If the remnant is smaller than the defined minimum, you cannot activate the remnant.
Minimum area of the rectangle
Defines the minimum area of the remnant. If the remnant area is smaller than the defined minimum, you cannot activate the remnant.
Offset Distance
Cleans up the remnant shape. This is useful especially when using the TrueShape type. Usually a good value for this parameter is the part-part distance.
Refresh Remnant Shape
Refreshes the shape of the remnant using the Parameters values. Click Refresh Remnant Shape when you modify the values.
Generate Cut Path
Creates a cutting path between the remnant and the parts. We recommend that you only use this option with stepped or straight cut remnants.
Geometry Tools
Activate
Enables you to select unused areas of the plate to mark them as remnants. Point to an area to display information about the area (surface area, width, and height) in a tool tip. Click to activate the area.
Enables you to create additional cutting paths, and then cut the remaining plate in smaller pieces.
