The simulation view enables you to simulate the actual cutting process. You plan an animation of the cutting process, and view the NC-code that defines the cutting path.
Simulation is useful for evaluating the cutting path. For example, It is easy to see whether the cut directions are correct for optimal cutting.
Click Simulate in the NC Program menu as shown below. Different cutting machines specific speed parameters in the simulation view.
For more information on running a simulation before creating the NC-program, see Creating NC-Program
The main sections of the simulation are listed below.
-
Animation area (the middle of the window; see below)
-
Playback bar (displays at the bottom of the simulation view)
-
Variable menu (displays on the left side of the animation area)
-
Tool buttons (the Select object and Measure distance commands are highlighted below)
-
NC-code panel (displays on the right side of the animation area)
Select object
Enables you to select a specific point on the cutting path. Variables on variable menu, time on playback bar and current codeline on NC-code panel adjusts accordingly.
Measure distance
Enables you to measure distances in the animation area. Click a start point, and then click an end point.
Playback bar
Contains buttons and sliders for controlling the animation. The following controls are available. .
Previous break point
Moves to the previous break point or to the start of the animation.
Previous codeline
Moves to the previous codeline.
Play
Plays the animation.
Pause
Pauses the animation.
Stop
Stops the animation.
Next codeline
Moves to the next codeline.
Next break point
Moves to the next break point or to the end of the animation.
Speed/Duration slider
Enables you to specify a speed or duration. Click the button to choose speed, duration, or clear the command. Use the slider to adjust the speed or the duration.
Variable
Displays information about the simulation when you pause the animation. The Variable menu displays the information described below.
Time
Displays the number of code lines played.
Rapid speed (mm/min)
Displays the rapid movement speed in millimeters per minute.
Cut speed (mm/min)
Displays the cutting speed in millimeters per minute.
Mark speed (mm/min)
Displays the marking speed millimeters per minute.
Rapid movement (mm)
Displays the rapid movement amount in millimeters.
Cut travel (mm)
Displays the cutting amount in millimeters.
Mark travel (mm)
Displays the marking amount in millimeters.
NC-code
Displays the NC-code of the cutting process. When you click a codeline, the software adjusts the animation in the work area, the variables on the Variable menu, and the time on the Playback bar.
To add a break point into the code line, right-click a codeline and select Add break point from the shortcut menu. The animation stops when it reaches the new break point.
To remove a break point, right-click a codeline and select Remove break point from the shortcut menu.
