Click Save to open the Save part dialog box.

Type a name in the Drawing box.

(Optional) Enter any other attributes to save.

Click End Edit to save the part to the database.
The software displays a preview of the part to indicate that the part was saved successfully.

Drawing, Part Number, and Version Number generally form a unique reference to the part geometry in the Smart Production system database. If a part geometry already exists in the system with the same name, the software displays an error message so that you can change the name.

The Save part dialog box properties depend on the system configuration.
To save a copy of the current part:

Click the arrow on the Save button to display a drop-down list, shown below.

Click Save Part As..., and then type a name in the Drawing box.

Click End Edit to save the part to the database.
To save over an existing part:

Click the arrow on the Save button to display a drop-down list, shown below.

Click Save Over Part....

Click the Drawing box, and then use the grid to locate appropriate part geometry.
The software displays a preview of the current part geometry.

Click End Edit to save the part to the database.
The software displays a preview of the new part geometry.
