Open a drawing.

Place an instrument valve.
A dialog displays prompting you to select the actuator to be placed on the instrument valve.

Select the desired actuator from the list.
The actuator is placed on the instrument and the value of the instrument valve’s Actuator Type property is updated to match the actuator selected.

Select OK to continue placing the actuator.
The utility looks for the actuator symbol file of the selected actuator type based on mapping information in the INI file: ActuatorTypeAndSymbolName.ini. One actuator type could be mapped to multiple actuator symbol files.

If an actuator type is selected that does not have a matching symbol, the following error message displays and the instrument valve is placed without an actuator:

When an instrument valve’s actuator type needs to be modified, update the value of the instrument valve’s Actuator Type property in the property grid.

The existing actuator symbol will be deleted and a new actuator will be placed according the actuator type that you select.

If an actuator type is selected that does not have matching graphics, the following error displays and the actuator will not be replaced:
