Use the Smart P&ID Symbol Utility to generate Microsoft Excel reports containing a list of symbols available in the Smart P&ID Reference Data. You can generate either a general report or a focused report on a specific symbol category. The utility saves the reports in the %temp% folder.

Ensure Smart P&ID is installed.

You must connect to a plant in Drawing Manager for the utility to open.
Generate a symbol report

On the Windows Start menu, select Intergraph Smart P&ID Support Utilities > Symbol Report Utility.
The Smart PID Active Plant and Reference Data Root Path for the Active Plant automatically display the active plant name and corresponding P&ID reference data path.

To do this
Select Symbol Folder
Specify a different source path for the symbols.
To generate a focused report on a specific symbol type, browse the Symbols folder and select a sub-folder. For example, to generate a report on all the available
equipment symbols, browse and select the Equipment folder.
Multiple Sheets
Categorize symbols into separate sheets in the Excel report. For example, Assemblies, Equipment, etc.
Include Icons
Add symbol graphics to the report.

Select Write Symbols to generate the report.
