Country codes provide information of the country, its states, and provinces from which materials might be purchased, or in which a subcontractor resides.

A country code consists of the country's three-character international code and the country's proper name as description. You must assign the country's currency code and the currency code relates to the currency conversion information found in the pricing group of the unit conversion function.

The two-letter (alpha-2) and three-letter (alpha-3) country codes are defined in ISO 3166-1, to represent countries, dependent territories, and special areas of geographical interest.

  1. From the Home page, select Administration > Global Setup > Countries.

  2. Click Add Row.

  3. Type Country Code ISO-2, Country Code ISO-3, and Country Dial Code.

  4. Select Yes in Federal Id Mandatory to specify that federal ID is mandatory for this country.

  5. Select Yes in Portal?, to specify that the country must be available in Smart Materials Portal.

  6. Type Short Description and Description.

  7. Select a currency unit from the Units of measure list.

  8. Select Yes in Enforce National Holiday to move holidays falling on a Saturday or Sunday to the previous Friday or the following Monday.

  9. To assign states or provinces to the country, do the following:.

    1. In the States/Provinces section, click Add Row.

    2. Type State/Province Code, Short Description, and Description.

  10. Click Save.
