Smart Materials Web consists of privileges that can be assigned to a role as well as to individual users. These privileges allow you to control several functions and duties that only special users are allowed to use, in addition to all the features available for access control.
They can be set at:

User level for particular users.

Role level for all the users having this role assigned.

How to set the privileges depends on the security concept (how the administrator decides to set up users, roles, and access authorization).
For example, if a role was created for the buyers, and all the buyers should have the privilege of Purchase Order (PO) Approval, then this privilege should be assigned on the role level. But, if only one of the buyers has the PO Approval privilege, then this privilege is assigned to this user only. For more information, see User Securities.
Privileges are defined on the Global Setup > Users page.
The predefined privileges delivered with the software have value as Yes in Standard Column.
