You can define individual BOM views on this page.

BOM Views

  1. On the Home page, click Bill of Materials > BOM Views.

  2. Click Add Row in the BOM User View block.

  3. Enter the name in the View Name cell and the descriptions in the Short Description and Description cells.

  4. Select BOM or Site from the select list in the Used For cell to choose which pages this BOM View will be available for.

    Once set, this value cannot be updated.

  5. Select Personal, Project Wide or Discipline Specific from the select list in the View Type cell.

    • This value can be set only if BOM is selected in the Used For cell. When Site is selected in the User For cell, this cell is disabled and set to Personal.

  6. When you select Personal, this view can only be used by you.

    • When you select Project Wide, all users assigned to the project can use this view.

    • When you select Discipline Specific, this view can be used by all users logged in to the specified discipline.

  7. Select Yes or No from the select list in the Default cell.

    • Default is applicable only for Site records.

    • Only one View Name can be selected as the Default.

    • Atleast one Default should be set.

  8. The BOM Web Compatible is a read-only column.

    • The BOM Web Compatible column indicates if the BOM view created in Smart Materials Classic is compatible to use in Smart Materials Web. The available values are Yes, NO and - . and No.

    • Only those views that have BOM Web Compatible as Yes are shown in the Maintain BOM page.

  9. Enter a value in Tab 1, Tab 2 and Tab 3.

    • On clicking Add Row, only the Tab 1 name is auto-populated.

    • The Tab 1 is updated with Default and all properties associated with Tab 1 are included under it.

    • All these views are defined only for BOM.

  10. To check if a view can be inserted, click Validate View.

    Insertable view indicates that data can be entered on the Maintain BOM page when this specific view is selected. In case it is not an insertable view, the Maintain BOM grid will be in the read-only state.

  11. To view the properties that are created in Smart Materials Classic in the Maintain BOM page, click Populate Tab.

    • The Populate Tab button renders the views created in Smart Materials Classic usable like that of the views created in Smart Materials Web.

    • For the views created in Smart Materials Classic, when Tab1 data is populated in the BOM User Views section and properties are usable in Maintain BOM screen, then BOM Web Compatible is shown as Yes, otherwise it is shown as No.
