In the Update Inventory screen, you can scan the barcodes for the PICS. The user will indicate the warehouse and location, scan the barcodes and indicate the quantity on-hand. Once the information is reviewed, the user confirms the scan and the PICS is updated automatically and the user is free to conduct the next scan.

  1. Type the site code.

Site Code is displayed only when Bin location is enabled.

  2. Type or select the warehouse.

If Bin location is enabled, the application sorts the warehouses based on the site code.

  3. Type or select the location.

If Bin location is enabled, the application sorts the locations based on the selected warehouse.

  4. Tap Scan Activate Phone Camera in the Barcode box to begin scanning barcodes. The trigger unit will conduct the scan and add the data to MobileScan. The scanned barcode is shown in the Barcode box. Alternatively, you can type the barcode, using a prefix as described in the following note.

The barcodes are generated with a prefix based on the first letters of company's name in the license file (default.json), followed by the item_ship_id. For example, with the entry below, the prefix would be WEI, and a sample barcode would be WEI69162778.

  5. Type the counted quantity in the Quantity box.

  6. Tap to save, or tap to return to the previous screen.

During the physical inventory count, if a scanned item is not available at the location of the scan, MobileScan displays a warning indicating that the physical inventory count failed. The warning also indicates alternate locations where the scanned item is available based on the information in Smart Materials.
