When the error message 'Unsupported Version' is displayed on launching Smart Materials, do the following:

  1. Invoke SQL*Plus, connect as M_SYS, and execute this command to get the component's database version:

    SELECT * FROM mv_install_product_compat where product_name='Smart Materials';

  2. Provide information about installed components on the Smart Materials application server:

    <appserver-name>\<Installation Folder>\SPMAT\SPMAT.supver.txt

    <appserver-name>\<Installation Folder>\Web\DataBrokerService\DatabrokerService.supver.txt

  3. Provide information about the Smart Materials application that is installed on the client:

    • Start Smart Materials on your client computer.

    • Right-click the Smart Materials application icon in the Windows taskbar, and select Open current location.

    • Check the version in the SPMAT.supver.txt file.

  4. If the versions in SPMAT.supver.txt on the application server and in SPMAT.supver.txt on the client are different, start the Application Launcher, click the Mat icon the upper left corner, and click Cleanup App Store.

  5. If the versions in SPMAT.supver.txt on the application server and in the database are different, the version or service pack/hotfix of the user interface and the database do not match. Make sure that after upgrading the Smart Materials database you install the same version/service pack/hotfix on the application server.
