Smart Materials/Smart Reference Data Version
2020 (10.0)

Before beginning an installation of Smart Materials, verify that your server and client computers meet the following hardware and software requirements.

  • From version 2016 R4 (8.4.0), Smart Materials and Smart Reference Data work only with the new Intergraph Smart Licensing (ISL). Before you upgrade either Smart Materials or Smart Reference Data, file a Service Request for the appropriate license.

  • All domain verified user names and passwords must use ASCII7/English characters. Oracle does not support non-ASCII / English characters in domain user names or passwords and will not work. This limitation applies only to Oracle, not Intergraph.

  • After installing the application server with Oracle Fusion Middleware 12.2.1.4.0 Forms and Reports and Infrastructure, you must install Smart Materials 2020 Service Pack 3 (10.0.3) or higher.

  • Intergraph strongly recommends updating your software to the latest available version. Before you perform the 2020 (10.0.0) installation, connect to Smart Support (Learn About Smart Support) and download the latest available Service Pack for Smart Materials 2020 (10.0.0). Apply this Service Pack after the successful installation of version 10.0.0.

  • Unix/Linux Environments:

All scripts and operating system commands are designed for Windows environments only. If you have Smart Materials databases in Unix or Linux environments, please contact the local country consulting team.

Intergraph strongly recommends running the installation from a Windows Client, this means, Oracle Database Administrative tools installation on a Windows Client without the installation of a database instance. These administrative tools must be exactly on the same Oracle Patch level as the Unix/Linux RDBMS release.

  • The software must not be installed on a mounted drive/volume.

  • Configure the application server and database server to be in the same domain. The computers should also be physically close to each other.

  • During installation, turn off virus scanners and virtual machine services. Restart these services after the installation.

  • Fusion Middleware is licensed under Oracle Internet Application Server (iaS).
