To improve the performance of business intelligence reports, some of the reports use separate database tables. To ensure that the reports use current data, synchronization jobs must be run on the database to synchronize the database tables. Synchronization jobs must be created and run for the following reports:

  • Adherence to Delivery Dates (-> uses Expediting data)

  • Agreement Supplement Comparison

  • Agreements and Line Items

  • Commodity Codes (Catalog Search)

  • Expediting

  • Idents (Full Listing)

  • Inventory List

  • MRRs per Day

  • On-Time Delivery

  • Procurement Progress

  • Procurement Status

  • Purchase Order Closeout Status

  • Shipment Tracking

Create a synchronization job

  1. From the Home page, select Administration > BIR Administration > Synchronization Jobs.

  2. Click Add Row.

  3. Type the Job name.

  4. Select the Report name from the list.

  5. Select the project(s) for which the data should be synchronized from the Synchronized Projects list.

    • It depends on the selected report if this option is available.

    • If no project is selected, the data of all projects will be synchronized.

  6. Select the language(s) for which the data should be synchronized from the Synchronized Languages list.

    • It depends on the selected report if this option is available.

    • If no language is selected, the data for all languages will be synchronized.

  7. Select Yes in Sync Only Latest cell if only data should be synchronized that changed since the last run of the synchronization job, otherwise keep No if all data should be synchronized.

  8. Select the date and time the job shall start in Job Start Date.

  9. Select Yes in Active cell to enable the job to be started by the DBMS scheduler.

If No is selected, the job will not be scheduled, but you can run it manually by selecting the job in the list and clicking Synchronize Now.

  10. Select the Frequency of the job execution from the list.

  11. Click Save.

  • The scheduled jobs run automatically at the defined job start date with the defined frequency.

  • Last Run shows the date and time of the last synchronization, with a comment about modifications to database objects that are relevant for the report. The comment appears in red when objects have been modified and the synchronization job should run again.

  • Job Run Result shows the result of the last run.

    Possible values are

    • Succeeded

    • Stopped

    • Failed - nnnnn (nnnnn indicates the Oracle error message code)

If the job was disabled while it was running, a result is not displayed.

  • Next Run shows the date and time of the next job execution.

  • Current Status shows the status of the current job run.

  • Synchronized Rows shows the result of the current job run.

If customer installed procedures (CIPs) have been modified, it is necessary to update the version number and the build number in the VERSION procedure in the concerning custom package because this procedure is used to track package modifications.

Ad-hoc synchronization

You can start a synchronization job immediately.

  1. Select the check box for the jobs you want to run.

  2. Click Synchronize Now.
