The Smart Materials Diagnostic tool helps you analyze problems and determine the cause. If any problems occur with your Smart Materials application, you can run the Diagnostics tool to create a file with information about the status of your server.
Smart Materials Diagnostics is delivered with Smart Materials 7.1.0.
The Diagnostics tool can also be used with the earlier versions of Smart Materials 7.0.and later.
After you install Smart Materials 7.1.0, you can find Smart Materials Diagnostics on your application server at <SPMat_Installation_Folder>\bin\SPMatDiagnostics.

Double-click SPMatDiagnostics.exe.
You can click Open Diagnostic to open an existing diagnostic file.

Select the Connect to Database check box.

Type your user name, password, and TNS name.
The TNS check box is selected by default, which means that the connection to the database is established using the settings in the tnsnames.ora file.
To connect to a database without referencing to tnsnames file, select the SID check box, and enter details in the SID Name, Host Name, and Port fields.

Click Test Connection to view the database version.

Click Start Diagnostic.
The Smart Materials Diagnostic tool collects all the available configuration data. For example, it collects versions of the installed Oracle applications, fmx and plx timestamps, DBA settings, and so on.

Click Save Diagnostic.

Browse to the location where you want to save the file.

Click OK.
The file name follows this structure:
SPMatDiagnostics_<OS><date><Servername>.tree

Email the file to Smart Materials Support for analysis.

On the SPMat Diagnostics dialog box, click + to expand the SPMC (Smart Materials Configuration) node, and view its details.

Press Esc to view the .xml file.
